Jon Mayer is a writer and
scholar, pursuing his Master’s degree in Theatre History &
Criticism at Brooklyn College, where he’ll be studying community-based
theater and performance as an agent of social change.
Jon comes to DTE fresh out of New York University’s Dramatic Writing
Department, where he graduated with a concentration in
playwriting. He’s a founding member of The Glass Company, an arts
and activism organization dedicated to questions of gentrification and
the changing landscape of the East Village and Lower East Side.
Jon resides happily in Crown Heights, and can be found at any
performance of his plays in the back row, with his hands over his face,
looking at the floor.
